Each year the Brookings Arts Council provides a scholarship to a Brookings High School senior who are interested in pursuing the arts post graduation. We match your donations in hopes our students know their community is behind them in their efforts to create a more artful and creative world.
In 2024 we named our community scholarship in honor and memory of Brookings community artist and long time friend of the BAC, Bob Semrad. Bob, always ready with a smile and a story, held two bachelor's degrees in the arts. Ever a supporter of learning and creating art for the sake of art, we hope to help to continue that legacy through this fund.
Applications open in April with checks being sent out directly to colleges or programs in May.
